For the 9th time, Frostburg State University will welcome the small and independent press community to campus for the Western Maryland Independent Literature Festival. TheFestival runs October 22-24, 2015 in Frostburg, MD.

The 9th Annual Independent Literature Festival proudly welcomes Michael GerhardMartin, winner of the 2013 James Knudsen Prize for fiction and a finalist for the prestigious Iowa Short Fiction and John Simmons Short Fiction Awards.
Martin will read on Friday at 5:30 PM at the Indie Lit Kickoff Reading at Main StreetBooks (2 E. Main Street). Four editors introduce an author their press has published to give a reading. This year's featured authors are Michael Ratcliffe (Free State Review), Mark Brazaitis (Autumn House Press), Margaret Bashaar (Sundress Publications), andMichael Gerhard Martin (Braddock Avenue Books). Reading begins at 5:30 PM
Martin holds an MFA in fiction from the University of Pittsburgh. He teaches writing for Babson College and the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.
Easiest If I Had A Gun (Braddock Avenue Books, www.BraddockAvenueBooks.com) is his first book, described by critics as “Pennsylvania gothic.”
